The local Orthodox churches are building one of the holy and apostolic Church of Christ, whose head is the Lord Jesus Christ and in which the grace of the Holy Spirit acts. Local Orthodox churches strive to keep the purity of the Orthodox faith, to maintain the unity of their spiritual-mysterious and liturgical life, and to sanctify the lives of the nations among whom God has made them serve Him.
At the same time, each local Orthodox Church has a unique history, created a unique culture and is guided by an independent spiritual hierarchy which, together with the believing nation, is in Eucharistic communion with the Orthodox Christians and the clerics of the other local churches.
Most Orthodox local churches have their own web sites that bring us closer to their lives, revealing both the universality of Orthodoxy and the diverse forms in which God blesses it to manifest itself in different parts of the world.
