The Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church – Bulgarian Patriarchate, watching with great concern the fire disaster that have spread in different parts of the country, makes an appeal for prayers and support for the firefighters, the officials of the Ministry of Interior, the volunteers and all who are helping in the fight with the raging fire, as well as for support for all the victims who have lost their home, needing special help and protection. In these hard days, when thousands of decares of the Bulgarian lands are taken by this disaster, let us extend our prayers to the Mother of God – Most Holy Theotokos, to the great martyr St. Marina and St. Elias the Prophet, a protector of the firefighters, to intercede with their prayers for us, so that God protects our people from this disaster and in accordance with their prayers to keep us unharmed.
