Metropolitan Cyprian of Stara Zagora celebrated his named day

On August 31st, when the Orthodox Church celebrates the memory of St. Cyprian, Bishop of Carthage, His Eminence Metropolitan Cyprian of Stara Zagora celebrates his name day.

On the occasion of the feast in Stara Zagora attended metropolitan Nicholas of Plovdiv, Metropolitan Anthony of Western and Central Europe, His Grace Bishop Sioniii of Velich, His Grace Bishop Polycarp of Belogradchik, His Grace Bishop Arsenii of Znepol, His Grace Iakov of Konstantias, representatives of the Russian, Romanian and Ukrainian churches.

"On the day of my spiritual patron, I again want to thank God for his mercy, which he has shown so abundantly to me, and by His wil - I to be a spiritual child of St. Cyprian of Carthage", said Metropolitan Cyprian.

For special services to the Bulgarian Orthodox Church and to the Diocese of Stara Zagora, with the medal "St. Apostle Carp“ was honored: Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly Emil Hristov, Regional Governor Gergana Mikova and Chief of Stara Zagora Prison Commissioner Ivan Karushkov.

For special services to the Bulgarian Orthodox Church and to the Diocese of Stara Zagora, with the medal of "St. Ignatius of Stara Zagora" was honored: the head of the Public Relations department at Holy Synod of the BOC-BP father Nikolay Georgiev and Head of the Cultural and Educational Department of the Diocese of Stara Zagora father Yordan Karageorgiev.

Metropolitan Nicholas of Plovdiv read a congratulatory address from His Holiness the Bulgarian Patriarch Neophyte and the members of Holy Synod that wish the metropolitan health, strength and cheerfulness of the spirit.

Miraculous icons of the Mother of God were welcomed yesterday in Stara Zagora, hundreds of Orthodox Christians participated in the solemn worship.
