With deep grief we announce that today, 18th August 2020, after a severe and continuous illness His Eminence Metropolitan Amvrosiy of Dorostol departed unto the Lord.
We appeal to all the Orthodox Christians to direct their gaze in a sincere prayer to God Who to place the soul of departed from us Metropolitan of Dorostol in the abode of the just.
We hereby announce that in accordance with Art. 84, Para. 1 from the Statute of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church, the Holy Synod in full committee is going to gather in due time at an extraordinary meeting and is going to determine a date for the funeral service and the burial after getting familiar with the Notification of the widowed Diocesan Council of Dorostol, and also is going to appoint a Vicar of the widowed Diocesan throne of Dorostol who is going to manage the actions of the diocese until the election of a new Metropolitan of Dorostol.
Again, we cordially turn with feelings of sincere condolences first of all to the relatives, the venerable clergy and the pious congregation of the widowed Diocesе of Dorostol and we appeal again for cordial prayers for the departed unforgettable diocese metropolitan and synodical hierarch.
May God grant forgiveness to Metropolitan Amvrosiy of Dorostol and receive him in the abode of the just!
