His Holiness Bulgarian Patriarch Daniil attended a reception at the American Embassy on the occasion of the US national holiday - the Independence Day, under the invitation of the US Ambassador to Bulgaria Kenneth Merten. Patriarch Daniil was congratulated for his election and enthronement by Ambassador Merten, as well as by many public figures and politicians, including the Acting Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev. The celebration was attended by high-ranking government officials, ambassadors and others.
