On 14th January 2025, at its regular meeting, the Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church determined the following list of eligible bishops who can elected for a new Metropolitan of Vidin:
Bishop Sioniy of Velitsa;
Bishop Gerasim of Melnik;
Bishop Vissarion of Smolyan;
Bishop Mikhail of Constantia;
Bishop Pahomiy of Branitsa;
Bishop Makariy of Glavinitsa;
Bishop Isaac of Velbazhd;
Bishop Meletiy of Znepole.
Metropolitan Grigoriy of Vratsa is to send the list of the eligible bishops to all diocesan voters by a circular letter.
The election of the two candidates for a new Metropolitan of Vidin will be held on 2nd February 2025 in Vidin.
The canonical election of a new Metropolitan of Vidin will be held on 9th February 2025 in the building of the Holy Synod in Sofia.
